Feliz Vida Nova! / Happy New Life!

Disseram que 2012 ia ser o ano do fim do mundo. É curioso, porque eu não tinha parado para pensar nisso como uma grande metáfora, que foi o que se tornou. Neste ano atípico todo o mundo como eu costumava conhecer veio abaixo aos pedaços, e agora estou diante de um grande vazio, uma vastidão de possibilidades.      Me sinto empolgada, e também assustada - muitas coisas ruins se foram, mas a segurança que eu tinha se foi com elas. No fim isso pode ser ótimo, mas no momento ainda não sei ao certo o que fazer. Não estou acostumada a ter tanto espaço e me sinto um pouco perdida. E por isso fiquei um tempo sem vir aqui. Meu jardim está descuidado, e preciso retomar o que foi esquecido.      Espero que em breve tudo aqui esteja em ordem e que este ano ainda seja muito emocionante!

Some say the world will end in 2012. That's kind of interesting, because I hadn't stopped to think about it as a great metaphor, which was what it has become for me. In this atypical year, all the world as I used to know came down piece by piece, and now I'm facing this big emptiness, and a vastness of possibilities. .....I am both excited and scared - many bad things are gone, but the safety I had has also gone with them. In the end, this can be great, but right now I'm not sure of what to do. I'm not used to having such freedom and I feel a bit lost. That's why I stopped coming here for a while. My garden is abandoned and I need to resume what I have left behind.      I hope that soon everything's organized and that this year can still be very thrilling!

Doce Domingo / Sweet Sunday

 

Então domingo passado (04/12) finalmente fui conhecer a doceria de Joaquim Egídio.      O lugar realmente é uma delícia, muito aconchegante e tem um quintal fantástico! Eu poderia falar uma porção de coisas, mas acho que as fotografias falarão muito melhor!

So last Sunday (12/04) I finally knew that confectionery at Joaquim Egídio.      The place is trully delicious, very cozy and with an awesome backyard! I could say a lot of things, but I think the pictures have much more to tell!

Piracicaba

No dia 11 de setembro teve uma excursão da Pandora ao Salão de Humor de Piracicaba. Saímos de Campinas pela manhã e só voltamos no fim da tarde. Mais do que as artes expostas no Salão, aproveitamos também a companhia uns dos outros e tivemos um dia muito divertido e agradável com direito a peixe assado às margens do Rio Piracicaba, garapa e muita, muita risada. Espero que tenhamos muitas oportunidades iguais a esta. Obrigada, amigos, pela alegria deste momento!

On September 11 there was a tour from Pandora to the International Humour Exhibition of Piracicaba. We left  Campinas in the morning and returned only in late afternoon. More than the artworks exhibited, we enjoyed each others company and had a very funny and pleasant day, with grilled fish by the Piracicaba River, cane sugar syrup and so much laughing. I hope we have many more opportunities like this. Thank you, friends, for the joy of this moment!

Semana produtiva! / Productive week!

Esta semana eu trabelhei em algo muito especial – bonequinhos pra colocar no topo do bolo de casamento de amigos. Primeiro eu tentei fazê-los com biscuit, mas descobri que ele não é um bom material pra fazer coisas muito detalhadas (na verdade, acho só que não é um bom material = P ), então voltei ao bom e velho papel, que eu adoro e funciona comigo. Me sinto muito sortuda porque tudo deu certo (afinal, eu só tinha uma semana até o casamento!), e o resultado ficou muito bonitinho. Colabora com a minha sensação o fato de que meus amigos e seus parentes também adoraram! Então, aqui estão algumas fotos do processo e do resultado dos meus bonequinhos de bolo... This week I've been working in something very special – dolls to put in the top of a friend's wedding cake. At first I tried to make them with biscuit, but I found out that's not a good material to do detailed work (actually I don't think that's a good material at all = P ), so I gave up on it and came back to the good and old paper, witch I love and works for me. I feel very lucky because everything went well (after all, I jus had one week before the wedding!) and the result was cute. It helps my feeling the fact that my friends an their relatives loved it too! So, here are some shoots of the process and the result of my wedding cake dolls... Hope you like it! Diversão em Perspectiva / Fun in Perspective

Sábado eu fui ao CCBB em São Paulo conferir a exposição do Escher. Na saída havia um cenário com um truque de perspectiva pra gente posar e se fotografar. Olhem que legal!!

Saturday I went to CCBB in São Paulo check out Escher exhibition. In it’s end there was a scenario with a perspective trick for us to pode and take shoots. Look how nice it was!!

Certo. Então outro dia eu recebi o seguinte tweet do Matthew Gray Gubler : “Eu e um guaxinim”.      Pensei: “Um guaxinim, que coisa fofa!” e fui dar uma olhada. E isso foi o que eu encontrei:
